Self-care is essential. Many of us probably don’t get enough of it these days.
I’m guessing this is also very prevalent amongst the medium community, who doubtless spend countless free hours refining their craft and willing words into existence.
How satisfying it is to complete an article and hit the publish button, but I’m sure most would agree it’s hard work.
For the driven, the ambitious, the creative, or the people inundated with tasks and responsibilities, the idea of taking even a few moments to spend on yourself feels decedent.
It can make you a little guilty, like every second of the day should be spent building something.
It helps to remind ourselves that taking a little time to unwind will boost energy and concentration while staving off feelings of frustration, anxiety, and depression.
If we want to do better, we should take care of the mind and body doing all the work.
I’ve spent a couple of years pretty flying close to work-related burnout, so this is something I’m taking seriously.
